Celebrating #UMDgrad Moments and Memories
Class of 2020 Shares Favorite Terp Experiences Ahead of Today’s Virtual Commencement Ceremony
Their last semester may not have been what they were expecting, but it’s been a time that the University of Maryland’s Class of 2020 will remember forever.
But as they prepare to celebrate their graduation today at an unprecedented virtual ceremony, the real trove of memories for these Terps will draw from their entire college careers.
UMD invited Spring 2020 graduates to share photos, videos and messages of memories, experiences and hope with fellow Terps using the hashtag #UMDgrad on social media.
Hundreds of grads—and their proud parents—joined in, reminiscing about the classes they completed, the friendships they formed and the events they enjoyed, from basketball games to club meetings to McKeldin Mall snowball fights. Several also relished their accomplishments by snapping a few pictures in their caps and gowns.
Scroll through a few of the Class of 2020’s top Maryland moments and memories below, and tune into this afternoon’s virtual commencement ceremony for more:
Had some great memories at UMD! From amazing internships/fellowships, to my course in Cuba, and everything in between. I will truly miss my time here!! @UofMaryland @UMDPublicHealth #UMDgrad #PublicHealthTerps pic.twitter.com/ygfIqjgnBi— Mikayla Walker (@MikaylaWalker18) May 10, 2020
Graduating with a Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction from @iSchoolUMD this month. This has been an unforgettable journey filled with significant milestones and life lessons. It has also been a pleasure to be a part of my @thestampumd family. I am a proud #UMDgrad. ✨ pic.twitter.com/9KHkglUgRp— Kaush (@kaushin2thewind) May 11, 2020
2018 turned into 2020 so quickly, never realized we even passed through 2019. I still feel I joined UMD couple of months ago. Finally, now the world will recognize me as a Roboticist! #UMDgrad One of the many things that I will miss about UMD is TSO meetings. Being able to represent my heritage at school freely was an awesome opportunity. Another part of UMD that I will miss is basketball games. That are always a lot of fun! pic.twitter.com/k3DCntz9Hk— slurp 🧢 (@shamamci7) May 6, 2020
