# A ‘Union’ of New Flavors in Greater College Park

Whether you prefer your avocado stacked on a burger with bacon or slipped into a salad, new additions coming soon to the community will cover both ends of the culinary spectrum.

Popular restaurants, transit-friendly housing and unique retail are among the latest highlights in [Greater College Park](https://greatercollegepark.umd.edu/), the $2 billion initiative to reinvigorate the community around the University of Maryland.

**New LV Collective Development** Housing developer LV Collective this month announced plans for a new mixed-use project at the former Campus Village Shoppes location, which will include 299 residential units on seven floors, a ground-level coffee shop, a second-floor co-working mezzanine, 13,000 square feet of retail and a community center celebrating the history of the African American neighborhood of Lakeland. The project is slated to open in Fall 2027.

“With each development, we look for creative ways to collaborate with the community, embracing its history and honoring its character and culture,” Andreé Sahakian, senior development manager at LV Collective, said in a release. “We have worked closely with the city of College Park and the Lakeland community to create this development that will bring value and vibrancy to this neighborhood and honor its identity.”

The developer also worked with previous Campus Village Shoppes tenants to provide financial assistance for relocation or lease renewals, and it is welcoming back Taqueria Habanero, Hanmi Sushi, Mr. Fries and the UPS Store.
